Members of the Rotary Club of West Chester Downtown visited Westtown’s Ropes Course on July 23, to learn about the program and the ways it helps youngsters attending Dragonfly Forest for kids with serious illnesses and disorders, and Camp Dreamcatcher for children infected and affected by AIDS. They also experienced ways alternative learners, adult groups and Rotary clubs can practice teamwork, leadership and communication skills while having a lot of fun.

At Downtown "Fridays," the pot of Happy Dollars is donated to non-profit organizations whose speakers make presentations to the club. Thus, our happiness is extended to needy members of our community. At the
June 26th meeting, the club also graduated from its starter gavel to an official engraved gavel, representing its first full year as a full-fledged Rotary club

At the last meeting of the 2008-09 Rotary year, Rotarians of the West Chester Downtown "Fridays" club celebrated by presenting checks and recognizing projects local and global. Marie Holland presented $1500 to Rotaplast. Bob Wilson presented $1000 to ShelterBox, Eric Metzker presented $1000 to The Rotary Foundation End Polio Now campaign, Anita Trump presented $375 to The Barn at Springbrook Farm, and Merry Piper noted that the club had made its eighth and final lunch for 100 homeless members of our community with $1600 raised by our club including a District Simplified Grant.
