Nov. 11-12, 2011 The Rotary District Conference was held at the Desmond Hotel, Paoli PA. PMB was represented by Carol Robinson, Rich Scott, Cindy Petty, Mike Alofsin, Ron Dick and Sharon Natale as well as German Mapelli, our exchange student from Argentina. Jay Scott, father of Alex Scott, founder of Alex’s Lemonade Stand, was just one of a number of inspiring speakers. Mike Alofsin masterminded a Happy Dollar event that supported Alex’s Lemonade Stand, generating hundreds of dollars on behalf of that worthy organization. “Each and every time I attend a Rotary event of this magnitude, I come away wishing I could match the passion and giving-nature of the Rotarians who surround me. I am always inspired by the incredible power of Rotary around the world. Life would be more challenging and perhaps not possible for the most vulnerable citizens of our world if it were not for the commitment of PMB Rotary and our fellow clubs worldwide for many people in Third World Countries and challenged neighborhoods within our own country. Water, housing, schools, health, employment opportunities and options – they all become possible because of Rotary. I am personally Rotary Proud!, ” as Carol Robinson sums up her feelings about the conference. |
