Al worked for many years for Sun Company, Inc. in various assignments in Dallas and the Philadelphia area and he is President of ALKAN Financial Services Corporation.

Al joined the Rotary Club of Wayne in 1983 and served in various capacities as Board member and officer and continues to serve as Treasurer and a member of the Board of his club. Al served as Governor’s Representative for PDGs Arne Graf and Hogie Hansen. Al enjoys opportunities for leadership development in Rotary and has served as faculty member at the Mid-Atlantic PETS, at the Rotary Leadership Institute and other Rotary training functions. He has attended many national and international Rotary meetings and his favorite international make-up club is the Rotary Club of Athens, Greece. He has received much recognition within his District and acted as mentor for new members in his Rotary Club. Al is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Charter Class of the Paul Harris Society in District 7450.

He enjoys tennis, travel, a good political discussion, reading about current events, learning how to play golf on the course his new home is build on, friendships, and following his favorite college football team the University of Texas Longhorns. Additionally he enjoys visiting with his grandchildren.
