for the District include a strong and visible presence in
the area, continue the support of the Polio eradication

development, promote new service programs, and promote goodwill

as an elected School Director for the Radnor Township School
District, and as Board member and Treasurer, President and
Chairman of the Financial Planning Association of the Philadelphia
Tri-State. Other organizations in which he has served include
his church, political groups and various other non-profit
organizations.

Georgetown, Texas, his first master’s degree from
the University of Texas in Austin, where he did post graduate
work towards a doctorate, and a second master’s degree
from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Al
also holds various certifications related to financial services
including the CFP(R). Al’s higher education followed
his high school graduation in Athens, Greece, where he was
born.

for many years for Sun Company, Inc. in various assignments
in Dallas and the Philadelphia area and he is President
of ALKAN Financial Services Corporation.
Al joined
the Rotary Club of Wayne in 1983 and served in various capacities

and a member of the Board of his club. Al served as Governor’s
Representative for PDGs Arne Graf and Hogie Hansen. Al enjoys
opportunities for leadership development in Rotary and has
served as faculty member at the Mid-Atlantic PETS, at the
Rotary Leadership Institute and other Rotary training functions.
He has attended many national and international Rotary meetings
and his favorite international make-up club is the Rotary
Club of Athens, Greece. He has received much recognition
within his District and acted as mentor for new members
in his Rotary Club. Al is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow
and a member of the Charter Class of the Paul Harris Society
in District 7450.
He enjoys tennis,
travel, a good political discussion, reading about current
events, learning how to play golf on the course his new
