Feasterville Rotary Club's 'Coats for Kids' Spaghetti Dinner dinner raised enough money to buy more than 80 new coats for local kids in three elementary schools and one middle school. Feasterville Rotary works with Operation Warm to get the coats and the schools distribute them. Our Ferderbar EarlyAct Club was in force to help out for the evening!

On November 20, 2006 Feasterville Rotary members helped spread the Rotary spirit by helping kick off its local Ferderbar Elementary School’s EarlyAct Club!

The mission of EarlyAct is to promote goodwill, understanding and peace through the active participation of its student members so that with committed citizenship and effective leadership they may improve the quality of life of their school, local and global communities. EarlyAct closely follows the principles, procedures and vision of Rotary International.

Ferderbar teachers Patty Compton and Susan Walters and school counselor, Ms. Sporny, learned about the New Jersey District 7510 EarlyAct program and wanted to start something similar for their students. With the help of the New Jersey EarlyAct director, their great website (www.earlyact.com) and the Feasterville Rotary club, Ferderbar EarlyAct leaders were sworn in on November 20th.

The students now meet several times per month to create and facilitate their own charitable service project ideas and learn how to make things happen under a club organization! They have local, community and international committees, a president, secretary, etc… and make decisions as a group. They already have a Holiday Elf Fund Project and Valentine Day Card Project under their belts.

So many helping ideas and so much energy just oozes out of these kids! And students already are coming to class talking about the RI signs they see on the highways. Our future Rotary members!!
