| Ferderbar
teachers Patty Compton and Susan Walters and school counselor,
Ms. Sporny, learned about the New Jersey District 7510 EarlyAct
program and wanted to start something similar for their students.
With the help of the New Jersey EarlyAct director, their great
website (www.earlyact.com) and the Feasterville Rotary club, Ferderbar
EarlyAct leaders were sworn in on November 20th. The
students now meet several times per month to create and facilitate
their own charitable service project ideas and learn how to
make things happen under a club organization! They have local,
community and international committees, a president, secretary,
etc… and make decisions as a group. They already have
a Holiday Elf Fund Project and Valentine Day Card Project under
their belts.
So many helping ideas and so much
energy just oozes out of these kids! And students already are
coming to class talking about the RI signs they see on the highways.
