Night of Indoor Mini-Golf on Feb
21, 2012 from 5:30 to 9:30. The course is 18 holes
and is, all about the environment. There will be prizes, a 50/50,
H'orderves, beer and wine. Cost is $10 per golfer. The Golf
Course is in the New Garden Center at Linvilla Orchards.
There is plenty of parking and space to party! Proceeds
will go to the Rotaplast Guatemala trip in March. Linvilla will
be closed for business during this event. The Farm Market and
Garden Center close at 5 on Tuesdays. Please mark your calendars
for an evening of Rotary fun on February 21st. Contact Sue at

Awards at Freedom Foundation Valley Forge. Each Club is encouraged
to sponsor a high school student or two for this program. The
cost has not been set yet but should be approx. $225 each which

Longwood Rotary Lights a Torch of
Hope
Longwood Rotary is again spearheading the Kennett/Unionville Relay
for Life scheduled for June 8 and 9, 2012. Member Dave Foresman,
who is one of the co-chairman for the Relay, said “Relay
for Life has been a club activity since we were founded. We decided
to restart the Relay last year after it had to be cancelled because
of management issues the year before. We received great community
support so we are continuing. Many of the committees needed to
run a Relay are chaired by club members but we want to reduce
that over time so the whole community really owns this event.”
The goals for this year include raising $45,000 and increasing
the number of participants from 219 to over 300. To help do this
the local school districts are being asked to participate. “This
opens access to about 20% of the community, many of whom we may
not be able to reach through local businesses and associations”,
said Mike Zieg, co-chairman with Dave Foresman. Because of the
time commitment required from many club members this will be one
of the major club projects again this year.
