Sandy has been busy in other areas as well. She has hosted GSE team members and has served as Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee. Her innovativeness led to the implementation of a unique Sunday Brunch which has raised over $20,000 in the past five years. In recognition of her service, the Langhorne Club honored Sandy with a Paul Harris Fellow Award in 1998. In 1996, Sandy became a member of the District Membership Committee where she served for two years. Her tenure on the Committee was punctuated by her participation as Co- Chairperson of the District Membership Conference in 1997. Sandy's energy spills over into the entire community, as evidenced by her membership in the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce Business-Education Partnership and the Neshaminy Education Foundation, as well as her service as volunteer client advocate at Wood Services of Langhorne, Pa. Sandy received her B.A. degree from Rider College, her M.A. from Temple University, and her Ph.D. from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. She is employed by the Neshaminy School District in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, where she served as Assistant Director of Pupil Services in charge of Special Education Programs for five years. Most recently, Sandy was appointed Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent for Federal Programs and Director of Assessment. She is also responsible for the development, writing and submission of competitive grants. Her professional activities include active membership in the American Association of School Administrators, the Pennsylvania Association of Federal Program Coordinators, Phi Delta Kappa and the Council of Exceptional Children.
