David M. Haradon
District 7450 Governor Nominee

Dave Haradon has been married for over 40 years to wife Peggy. They have two adult children and two wonderful grand children. Dave met Peggy in the Purdue University Marching Band where Dave played trumpet while studying as a Chemical Engineer major with a Marketing Minor, and Peggy was a Child Life Specialist while tossing a baton as a beautiful sequined majorette. They now live in a 55+ community in West Grove, PA. within the Philadelphia area Rotary District 7450.

Dave’s professional career included 20+ years with the DuPont company in senior management sales, marketing, product management and strategic planning roles. This caused his family to live in many areas of the country: Seaford, DE; Waynesboro, VA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX, Wilmington, DE; Kennett Square, PA. Dave started his own webinar production company in 2001 which continues today.

Dave’s community service efforts started in his high school Key Club (Kiwanis) and continued after college with senior leadership roles in Jaycee International. While serving on many church, professional and community Boards of Directors, Dave joined the Longwood Rotary Club in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania in May 1999 ”just because someone asked me to”. As a second generation Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow (Father: Club President-Clinton, Iowa) he was the Longwood Rotary Club’s President in 2008-2009, District 7450 Conference Chair in 2011, Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) instructor since 2010, District 7450 Corporate Board of Director member since 2011 and District Treasurer 2013-2014. Dave will be the Rotary District 7450 Governor in 2016-2017.

Much of Dave’s life work has focused on the creation, practice, mastery and application of ontological leadership for individuals and organizations. He is the author of many white papers and articles on transformational leadership and has instructed thousands of people in hundreds of organizations about creating EXTRAORDINARY lives and showing how this relates to leading EXTRAORDINARY organizations. This mastery has recently included creating, authoring and leading instructors in the Rotary Leadership Institute’s (RLI) graduate level course “ Transforming Your Rotary Club: How To Create an EXTRAORDINARY Rotary Club for your Members, Your Community and the World” published in 2011. He is currently committed to bringing this program to all 1.2 million Rotarians around the world.

Dave’s current favorite quote which reinforces Rotary’s ”Service Above Self” motto is:
“The best way to find your own self is to lose yourself in the service of others.” - Mahatma Gandhi
