Rotary Club of Exton-Frazer
Exchange Students
We have hosted exchange students from Australia, Japan, India, Israel, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Sweden, England, Scotland, Wales, Nigeria, Canada, South Africa, Zambia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile in the past.
We have sponsored exchanges to: Australia, Israel, France, Germany, England, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Brazel, Argentina, and Japan.
At present, we have no exchange students, incoming or outgoing.
Outgoing exchange students are selected by the local clubs and then approved by the District. A club that sponsors an outgoing exchange student is expected to take care of hosting incoming exchange students which must include the family of the outgoing exchange sudent. Usually, a host family will take an exchange student for 3 to 6 months, and in some cases longer. The host families must reside in the school district in which the student goes to school.
The exchange students are responsible for their own expenses such as travel and necessary clothing. Housing and food is provided free to students by the host families.
Host clubs must provide an allowance plus provide transportation and expenses to various club and district activities.
The exchange student usually goes out or comes in during the senior year of high school.
